No plans

I’m almost ready to leave. Butterflies in my stomach. More than three months on the road lie ahead. For the entire next month, there is not a single entry in my calendar. Nothing scheduled. Everything is possible. The first ideas are unfolding: a visit with my friend Gabi Reichert, two spontaneous Alexander Technique workshops in […]

Sunday

Sunday. And somebody is being very noisy with a lawn mower in front of my window. I wake up a little more and I realize: it is Wednesday. It is only Sunday for me. Every day. There are Sundays on which the shops are open and Sundays on which they are closed. And again that […]

Alive

I feel alive when I can determine myself what to do with my time! When the use of my time was determined from the outside, I often felt tired and depleted in the evening, sometimes even the whole day. It seemed like lead was weighing down my arms. My entire body felt heavy. Some evenings, […]

Good-bye Cork

Saying good-bye to Ireland after more than two weeks here isn’t easy for me. These past five days, I was privileged again to witness how much change and growth is possible within a short period of time and how people who, for the most part, didn’t even know each other on Friday night, formed a […]

HEN Conference

Wow, the last four days at the Irish home ed gathering were fantastic! I met so many nice people, enjoyed the atmosphere, gave Alexander Technique lessons and had lovely chats. Such a pity that the HEN Conference went by far too quickly! Life is so much richer when you are in good company.

Downtime

It is becoming clear quite quickly that I should schedule enough „downtime“ into my travels. I need days without commitments, so I can process things. It would be a shame to just schedule one event after another without having the time to reflect upon the encounters, upon what happened and what was said. Maybe that […]

Ideas

Do you write down your ideas and thoughts? Andy Hunt (“Pragmatic thinking and learning”) writes that everybody has good ideas. But only few people cultivate their ideas, write them down and pursue them. I often find it astonishing when I think a new thought or come up with a new idea. Suddenly, I see the […]

Thermal

When I woke up today, the image of a glider came to me. Over the years, I felt like a little propeller-driven airplane: the engine runs at full speed, a lot of energy has to be spent so that the propeller keeps turning and I can move forward. Today, I’m ready to turn off the […]

On the road

My little car and I on our way to Hamburg, the first stop on my starter tour. Special event of the day: a dog running across the motorway, but thanks to cars slowing down on all lanes, he can be rescued. As I’m driving along, it is becoming more real to me: I’m on the […]
