Downtime

It is becoming clear quite quickly that I should schedule enough „downtime“ into my travels. I need days without commitments, so I can process things. It would be a shame to just schedule one event after another without having the time to reflect upon the encounters, upon what happened and what was said. Maybe that will be one of my tasks for the next little while, finding a balance between the interaction with other people and quiet reflection time. I hadn’t realized that I would need so much time for myself and my thoughts.

What does John Holt say? “Children have their own styles of learning, every one unique. They also have their own timetables, according to which they are ready to do things, speeds at which they want to do them, and time they want to wait before doing a new thing.” It looks like I need this time as well, to my own surprise!
